Linda Gail Hamby

Linda Gail Hamby of Jonesville, age 73, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family when she crossed over.

Ms. Hamby was born August 18, 1949 in Forsyth County to Gorrell William Douglas and Ruth Estelle Kasubowski Douglas.

Ms. Hamby loved her family and life. She was an avid Gunsmoke and Price is Right fan and enjoyed playing the Pic 3 and Pic 4 lotteries as well as playing “Words with Friends” with her special friend Carol. In addition to her parents, Ms. Hamby was preceded in death by brothers, Gorrell Douglas, Jr. and Larry Douglas; and sisters, Janet Smith and Carolyn Dixon.

Survivors include: son, Donnie Hamby of Winston-Salem; daughters, Tina Reeves and Herman Ingram of Jonesville, Lorie Sowells and her husband Kevin of Yadkinville; her number one companion Brutus Hamby aka Bru Bru, whom she loved and cherished with all her heart; brother, Hillary Douglas of Winston-Salem; sister, Kathy Naccarato of Swansboro, NC; grandchildren, Raymond “Boo Boo” Childress III, Ashley “Sissy” Childress, Anthony “Bunky” Hamby, Kimberly “Kimmer Dawn” Osbourne, Dalton “Dalton Wayne” Hamby; and great-grandchildren, Aja “Lil Sissy” Raiford, Anthony “Lil Bunky” Hamby, Jr., Ariana “Pookie” Hamby, Leilani “Punkin” Smith, Ajay “Lil AJ” Hamby, and  Binex Osbourne.
