Linda Gail Harris

Linda Gail Harris, age 71, of Elkin passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.

Linda was born August 28, 1952, in Surry County to Roy and Pauline Callaway Gillespie.

She was a member of Elkin First Baptist Church. Linda loved to read and travel; often taking day trips to nearby destinations. She loved living at Parkwood Apartments and her “Parkwood” family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her son, Jonathan Clay Harris, and wife, Dorothy of Elkin; brother, Danny Gillespie and wife Julie of Elkin, two grandchildren and three nieces.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 12 at 2:00 pm at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Mark Reece and Rev. Kenny Gunn officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Care of Adam Wilmoth, 2480 Union Hill Road, Thurmond, NC 28683.
