Mrs. Linda P. Poplin, age 79, of Ronda passed away on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024 at her home.
Linda was born February 16, 1944 in Wilkes County to “Jack” and Susie Tharpe Poplin. Linda
was a graduate of East Wilkes High School and later retired from Wilkes County Schools.
She was an active member of Maple Springs United Methodist Church in
Ronda. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Gary Brent Poplin and Ivan Benarr Poplin and his wife Linda Eller Poplin, a sister-in-law, Sara Ferris Poplin.
Linda enjoyed working outdoors in her flower gardens and sewing beautiful quilts with her circle of sewing friends.
After a hard-fought battle with cancer, she is survived by her husband Sam Poplin, of the home, son Brandon Poplin and wife Robin of Ronda; a granddaughter Bella Poplin of Waynesville, a sister Tommie Ford and husband Bobby of Elkin, brothers Sandy Poplin and wife Rosann of Ronda, Coy Poplin of Ronda, Jeff Poplin and wife Beth of Elkin and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 2:00pm at Maple Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Jesse Garmon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials be made to Maple Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund or to Mountain Valley Hospice.
