Lois R. Elledge

December 30, 1929 — June 10, 2022

Mrs. Lois Reeves Elledge, age 92, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born December 30, 1929 in Wilkes County to Isaac Reeves and Mertie Elizabeth Royal Reeves.

Mrs. Elledge was an active member of First Baptist Church of Elkin, joining in 1950. She taught Sunday School for over 50 years as well as serving on the Lord’s Supper Committee, Baptism Committee, and Bereavement Committee and was active with the WMU, Vacation Bible School, Hearts and Hands and Feed the Elderly.  Mrs. Elledge retired from Belk Department Store and was a talented seamstress.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Kenneth Elledge; brothers, Garland Reeves, Blaine Reeves and Lance Reeves and sisters, Ila Church and Pansy Bowers.

Survivors include: sons, Lynn Elledge and his wife Sheila of Jonesville, Barry Elledge and his wife Diana of Hamptonville; daughter, Blenda Singletary and her husband Glen of Iron Station; sisters, Betty Wyatt of Statesville, Minnie Queen of Wilkesboro and Rosa Warren of Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Sara Singletary Cox and her husband Brian, Rev. James Williams, Robbie Williams; great grandchildren, Ethan Williams, Levi Williams and Bradley Williams and several nieces and nephews

A private Graveside service will be conducted Monday, June 13, 2022 at Crestwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Justin Bell, Dr. Bill Johnson and Rev. James Williams officiating. Masks have been requested by the family for those in attendance.

The family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Elkin, 110 Gwyn Avenue Elkin, NC 28621, Red Cloud Indian School, 100 Mission Drive, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, SD 57770 or Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Mt. Airy, NC 27030

The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice and caregivers, Jeannie Harrison, Sheila Myers, Betty Norman, Sue Blodgett, Sharon Calhoun, Sandy Bates, Mattie Lane and Kathy Durham for their care.
