Lonnie Wayne Shelton, Sr.

Mr. Lonnie Wayne Shelton, Sr., age 76 of Elkin, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.

Lonnie was born July 10, 1947, to Andrew Johnson Shelton, Jr. and Fannie Ola White Shelton. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Judy Barker Shelton; sons, Junior Shelton, Chris Shelton and his wife Robyn, Andy Shelton; daughter, April Benton and her husband Paul; brother, Gilbert Shelton and his wife Sue; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 2:00 at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Mattie Ponce De Leon officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 633 Friendship Baptist Church Road, Elkin, NC  28621.
