Lou Ada Blackburn

Mrs. Lou Ada Griffith Blackburn, age 83, of Elkin passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at her residence. Mrs. Blackburn was born May 6, 1937 in Wilkes County to Colen and Ilar Carter Griffith.

Mrs. Blackburn was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and retired from Elkin Furniture.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Blackburn.

Survivors include: sons, Eddie Blackburn of Elkin, Donnie Blackburn and wife Robin of Elkin; daughters, Tammy Hutchens and husband Steven of Elkin, Debbie Simpson and husband Larry of Elkin; grandchildren, Melissa Creed and husband James, Jessie Blackburn, Jessica Blackburn, Brandon Cox and wife Ashley, Corey Blackburn, Eddie Blackburn, Jr., Austin Hutchens, Zymee Blackburn; great-grandchildren, Tyler Creed, Jayla Love, and Bryson Love.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, October 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Danny Royal and Rev. James Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Blackburn will lie-in-state from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
