Mrs. Lynette Gough Talley, age 85, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Lynette was born May 9, 1936 in Yadkin County to Alonzo and Brillie Todd Gough.
She was raised in the Deep Creek Community and graduated Courtney High School in 1955. Lynette worked for many years at AT&T/Western Electric in Winston Salem until the plant closed in 1987. Later, Lynette worked for Yadkin County Council on Aging and B&L Advanced Home Care before becoming a private duty sitter, finally retiring at age 84. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Open Arms Baptist Church, of which she was a founding member, as long as her health permitted.
Lynette was a devoted Christian wife, mother and grandmother. She was always willing to help family, friends and neighbors in time of need.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Talley; brother, Ivan Wade Gough and his wife Vera; sisters, Mary Gough Hutchens and her husband Martin and Martha Alice Gough.
Survivors include: her daughter, Lynn T. Wall, grandchildren, who affectionately referred to Lynette as “Granny”, Perry Hasten Wall and Kristy Wall Collins, great granddaughter, Paisley Jayde Collins and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted Friday, March 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Yadkinville Cemetery with Rev. James Miles and Rev. Ronnie Wooten officiating. Lynette will lie-in-state Thursday from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
