Carolyn Jones Poteat

Carolyn Jones Poteat, age 73, of Ronda, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.

Carolyn was born December 22, 1951, in Surry County to Monty Alonzo and Lucy Jane Pierce Jones. She was a member of Maple Springs Baptist. Carolyn was a loving wife; she loved to cook, watch the birds, and work in her flowers and garden. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brothers, Kyle Jones and Donnie Jones.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Poteat, of the home; stepson, James David Poteat; brothers, Tommy Jones and Ray Jones; sisters, Susan Jones and Ann Jones; grandchildren, Mason Riddle, Jacob Anderson, Bryan Anderson, and Zoe Susi; special nieces, Annette Poteat and Tabitha Poe; and a special sister-in-law, Shirley Jones.

A funeral service will be held Monday, 2:00 p.m., March 17, 2025, at Maple Springs Baptist with Rev. Curtis Ponder officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
