Marcia Jayne Holmes

Mrs. Marcia Jayne Holmes, age 65, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin, North Carolina. Marcia was born August 30, 1957 in Watkins Glen, New York.

Marcia loved landscaping and gardening, and creating beautiful flower arrangements. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and motorcycle riding. Marcia retired from the City of Charlotte.

Marcia was preceded in death her parents.

Survivors include: son Langdon Holmes and his wife Donna of Bath, New York; her companion of over twenty years, Daniel Gehl of the home; his daughters Nicola Amidon and her husband Rick of Painted Post, New York, Michell Rease of Painted Post, New York and her children Taylor and Braden; brother, Kenny Corwin and his wife Phyllis and their children Jennifer and Kelly of Rochester, New York; sisters Carol Corwin of Big Flats, New York, Barbara White and her husband Grover of Watkins Glen, New York and special grandson, Wyatt Holmes.

A memorial service will be conducted in New York at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, or to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford Street, Boys Town, NE 68010.
