Mary Harris

Mrs. Mary Cornelia Taylor Harris, age 83, of Thurmond passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Harris was born November 22, 1937 in Jarretsville, MD to Luther Bryant and Bertha Jane Lyons Taylor.

Mrs. Harris was a member of Knobbs Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the choir and as a Sunday school teacher. She was a former gospel quartet member. Mrs. Harris was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Guy Harris; son-in-law, Benny Albert Snow; one brother, and five sisters.

Survivors include: daughters, Nancy Harris Snow of State Road, Linda Harris Jenkins of Thurmond; sons, Ronnie Harris and wife Mary of Thurmond, Ray Harris and wife Melissa of Thurmond, Johnny Harris and wife Mary Beth of Glade Valley; brother, Alan Taylor and wife Connie of Traphill; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, December 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Knobbs Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Norman and Rev. David Spicer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Harris will lie-in-state from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
