Mary Welborn Howell

Mrs. Mary Welborn Howell, age 90, of Ronda passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Haymount Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fayetteville. Mrs. Howell was born December 1, 1928 in West Virginia to Savanna and Grace Hunt Martin.

Mrs. Howell was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Welborn, Jr.; son, Alvin Brinson Welborn; daughters, Deborah Welborn and Stacy Welborn; brother, William Martin; and sister, Susie Hoosier.

Survivors include; her husband Rev. Montreal Howell; son, Walter Welborn and wife Tujuana of Jonesville; daughter, Grace Barnes of Fayetteville; brothers, Robert Martin, Eugene Martin, and Lee Martin; sisters, Lillie Grinton, Regenia Lindsey, Agnes Bond, and Ruth Martin; grandson, Jarius Welborn; and several nieces and nephews.

A going home celebration will be conducted Tuesday, Feburary 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Jonesville. A wake will be held Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
