Mary "Louise" Nace

Mrs. Mary Louise Lancaster Burchette Nace, age 82, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Chatham Nursing Center in Elkin.

Louise was born in Surry County on March 9, 1942, to Roland McNair Lancaster, Jr. and Agnes Pardue Lancaster Hickey.

Louise was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and served as Director of Pleasant Hill Daycare for many years. She enjoyed volunteering her time at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital Outpatient Surgery Department.  She was a member of the Speedy Chef Dinner Club where she enjoyed meeting with her many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Talmadge Bruce Burchette, and her second husband, Robert Nace.

Survivors include her son Jeffrey Bruce Burchette from Herndon, VA, a daughter, Robbin Burchette Harris and husband, Eddie of State Road, a brother Roland Lancaster III of Ohio, a sister, Patricia Hochman and husband Steve of Virginia, two granddaughters, Mary Gwyn Harris and husband Alex Ratley, Victoria Harris Cox and husband Brandon, two great-grandchildren, Harris Ratley and Samuel Cox and many special friends.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 11:00 am at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. Following the service, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am-11:00 am prior to the service.
