Mattie Finney Bray

Mrs. Mattie Finney Bray, age 82, of Hamptonville, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023 at her residence.

Mrs. Bray was born July 18, 1940 in Yadkin County to Wentford Lee Finney and Ila Bryant Finney.

Mrs. Bray was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Bray was preceded in death by several siblings.

Survivors include: husband, Robert Harrison Bray of the home; sons, Jerry Harrison Bray and wife Denise of Elkin, Joel Matthew Bray and Amanda Wyatt of Jonesville; grandchildren, Amanda Martin and husband Jay, Jenna Shaw and husband Matt, Hailey Norman, Grace Norman, Emma Bray, Kira Bray; great-grandchildren, Braylee Martin,  Camden Martin, Lexi Bray and Gage Bray.

A graveside service will be conducted at Crestwood Memorial Gardens on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Childress officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.  at Elkin Funeral Service.
