Maudaleen Shores

Mrs. Maudaleen Norman Shores, age 82, of Elkin passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Elkin Assisted Living. She was born November 16, 1936 in Alleghany County to Ronna Sam and Ruby Jane Medley Norman.

Mrs. Shores was of the Baptist faith and retired from Surry Community College.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earlie Clifton Shores; sons, Ronald Clifton Shores and Donald Ray Shores; brother, Scott Norman; sisters, Betty Shaver and Helen Coe.

Survivors include: daughters, Karen Shores of State Road, Betsy Ford and husband Gef of Dobson; daughter-in-law, Lynn Coe Shores of Thurmond; brother, Sam Norman of Thurmond; sister, Katie White of Boonville; sister-in-law, Bertie Norman of Elkin; grandchildren, Amanda Shores, Joshua Moore, Derek Moore, Sarah Ford, Emma Ford; great-grandchildren, Jordan Clark, Robbie Clark, and Porter Clark.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, August 23, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Chaplain Ken Boaz officiating. Burial will follow in Charity Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wake Forest Baptist Heath Wake at Home Hospice, 126 Executive Dr. Suite 110, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
