Maxine Wood Reynolds

Mrs. Maxine Wood Reynolds, age 84, of Elkin passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Reynolds was born June 17, 1937 in Surry County to Paul and Mary Brooks Woods.

Mrs. Reynolds was of the Baptist Faith. She was a graduate of Mountain Park High School class of 1955 and McClumb College in Greensboro. Mrs. Reynolds started her career working for a federal judge in Greensboro and ended her working career at YVEDDI in the Mt. Airy Division.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy O’dell Reynolds; infant sister, Ruth Wood; brothers, Harold Wood, Eugene Wood, and Kelly Wood.

Survivors include: her son, Paul Andrew Reynolds of State Road; daughter, Sharon Dutko and husband Tommy of Elkin; twin sister, Pauline Wood Reynolds of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Renee Coe, Michelle Hiatt, Luke Reynolds; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
