Melissa Spicer Stanley

Mrs. Melissa Dawn Spicer Stanley, age 46, of Thurmond passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021. She was born November 24, 1974 in Surry County to Steve and Peggy Cheek Spicer.

Mrs. Stanley was a member of Center Baptist Church.

Melissa was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Charles Stanley and son, Scottie Ruffin Kennedy, Jr.

Survivors include: daughters, Lora Spicer Adams and husband Aaron Jacob, Elizabeth Dawn Spicer; parents, Steve and Peggy Spicer; maternal grandmother, Nina Cheek; sisters, Tammy Macemore and husband Drake, Stephanie Stoltzfus and husband Aden, Carrie Dunn and husband William; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Stanley will lie-in-state Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. A private funeral service will be conducted at Elkin Funeral Service with Rev. Adam Darnell officiating. A private burial will follow in Center Baptist Church Cemetery.
