Mesha Hearn

Ms. Mesha Suzanne Garris Hearn, age 50, of State Road passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at her home. Mesha was born February 6, 1972 in Surry County to Norman Garris and Audrey Phillips Adkins.

Mesha graduated from Elkin High School Class of 1990 and Guilford Tech. in Greensboro. She worked as a dental hygienist for Dr. John L. Gravitte, DDS P.A. in Mt Airy. Mesha was very sweet, loving, and caring and very professional in her career. She enjoyed doing crafts, decorating, and playing golf and adored her fur babies, Bella, Marley, and Zoe.

Mesha was preceded in death by her sister, Abby Adkins Buie; grandparents, Ruth and Oscar Phillips, Norma and Leo Garris; and stepfather, Roger Adkins.

Survivors include: her father, Norman Garris (Jennifer) of State Road; mother, Audrey Adkins (Terry Adams) of State Road; and stepbrother, Greg Brewer (Amanda) of Elkin.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. John Attaway officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
