Mr. Michael “Mike” Brandon Blackburn, age 48, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mike was born November 14, 1972 in Surry County to David Levoy Blackburn and Betty Cockerham Blackburn. Mike was employed with Lowes as a Forecast Analyst and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was a graduate of East Wilkes High School, class of ’91, and Gardner-Webb University. Mike was a coach and active supporter of East Wilkes Sports and was a loving husband, father, brother and friend.

In addition to his father, Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Mae Blackburn and James and Gladys Cockerham.

Survivors include: his wife, Crystal L. Blackburn of the home; sons, Ledger Blackburn and Phoenix Blackburn; mother, Betty C. Blackburn; brother, Travis Blackburn and his wife Julie; mother-in-law, Barbara Poplin; sister-in-law, Alicia Wagoner and husband Phillip; brothers-in-law, Ronald Lassiter and his wife LeAnn and Donald Lassiter; uncle Larry Blackburn and his wife Sharon and their daughter Heather Gail, several nieces and nephews and many special friends and neighbors.

A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
