Michael David "Mike" Brown

Michael David “Mike” Brown, age 62 of Elkin, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Mike was born on December 4, 1961, in Surry County to David Edward Brown and Betty Lou Key.

Mike was an owner and operator of Carter and Kirk Paving Company and was of the Baptist Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: his wife, Darlene Roberts Brown, of the home; son Dustin Wood of State Road; daughter Kristy Owens and Derek of North Wilkesboro; brothers Dwayne Brown of Jonesville and Terry Brown of Elkin; sister Teresa Brown of Elkin; grandchildren Tinley Owens and Ruthie Owens; also, several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel by Rev. Joe Adkins and Rev. Dale Cave officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
