Mildred Darnell Sparks

Mrs. Mildred Darnell Sparks, age 78, of Elkin passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mildred was born September 18, 1941 in Surry County to Wade Hampton and Ruth Church Darnell.

Mrs. Sparks was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donnie Darnell.

Survivors include: her husband, Ronnie Sparks of the home; sons, Brian Hornung and wife Vivian of Richardson, TX, Russell Sparks and wife Joan of Ronda; daughter, Amy Hale and husband George of High Point; brother, Ronnie Darnell and wife Brenda of Elkin; grandsons, Corey Hornung, Aythan Hornung, Josiah Sparks, and Abram Sparks.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
