Mitchell Harris

Mr. Mitchell Steve Harris, age 63, of Statesville passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill. Mr. Harris was born November 24, 1956 in Surry County to Fred Claude and Elois Mitchell Harris.

Mr. Harris graduated from Elkin High School and UNC at Dobson. Mitchell valued working at Clark Equipment, PGI, Provdencia, and Avgol. He also valued the friendships he formed while working. Mitchell was an avid street rider and racer of motocross and enjoyed being part of the motorcycle family. He was proud and blessed to have had numerous great friendships over the years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Mitchell.

Survivors include: his most cherished daughter, Ashley Davidson of Durham; sister, Starr Harris of Stony Point; and numerous cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted Friday, February 14, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Wesley Smith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
