Nell Key Pepper

Mrs. Nell Key Pepper, age 95, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Pepper was born September 28, 1926 in Surry County to Walter and Bessie Ellen Key.

Mrs. Pepper was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church and an oil painting artist. She retired from Wilkes Community College in the Art Department.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Pepper, Sr; sons, Fred Pepper, Gwyn Pepper, and Henry “Chippy” Pepper, Jr; sisters, Reba Giles, Edith Lyons, and Betty Pardew, brothers, Arlie Key and Bill Key.

Survivors include: step grandchildren, Timothy Hicks, Chris Hicks and Loretta Caudle; step great-grandchildren, Gauge Hicks, Chole Sanner and Scott Hicks and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Pleasant Home Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Bauguess officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
