Norma Jean Wood

Mrs. Norma Jean Wood, age 60 of Roaring River passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at her home.

Norma was born January 5, 1964, in Wilkes County to Emmett Yancy and Peggy Jean Wagoner Edwards.

Norma was a member of Peoples Baptist Tabernacle.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Edwards.

Survivors include: her husband, Ronnie Lee Wood of the home; son, Michael Wood and wife Krissi of Hays; daughters, Amanda Gardner and husband Shaun of Mt. Airy, Kayla Wood of Roaring River; brothers, Dwayne Edwards and wife, Dawn of N. Wilkesboro, Billy Edwards and wife Shelia of N. Wilkesboro; sister, Juanita Edwards of N. Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Laken Cruz and husband Eduardo of Statesville, Lindsey Billings of Roaring River, Ethan Billings of Roaring River, Hailey Billings of Mt. Airy, Makenna Wood of Hays, Milley Wood of Hays and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, April 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Peoples Baptist Tabernacle with Pastor Jonathan White and Rev. Randall Money officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
