Oleene Tucker Harris

Mrs. Oleene Tucker Harris, age 92, of State Road passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at her residence. Mrs. Harris was born October 9, 1927 in Wilkes County to J.R. and Ora Adams Tucker.

Oleene was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir for many years. She was an accomplished lady and was strong in her faith. She had an enduring strength and compassion for others. Oleene was a very fashionable lady and retired from Spainhour’s. She worked in sales and traveled to New York on several buying trips. Oleene was always ready to go on trips and loved to her share her gifts and talents with others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyndon Harris; four brothers; and three sisters.

Mrs. Harris is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, February 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Mitch Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
