Pansy Luffman Byrd

Mrs. Pansy Luffman Byrd, age 91, of Ronda passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at Rose Glen Manor in North Wilkesboro. Mrs. Bryd was born January 29, 1928 in Wilkes County to James Bradford and Mamie Love Luffman.

Mrs. Byrd was a member of Little Elkin Baptist Church. She was a loving wife for over 72 years; she loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She taught her children to always have the love of Christ in their heart and soul.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ezra Mack Byrd, Sr; brothers, J. B. Luffman, Jr, infant brothers, Earl and Merle Luffman; sisters, Ruby L. Wagoner, Vadie L. Money, Hazel L. Cook, Verlie L. Freeman; and granddaughter, Bethany Byrd.

Survivors include: sons, Ezra Mack Byrd, Jr and wife Anna of Gatesville, TX, Bradford Eugene Byrd and wife Rita of Ronda, Arvil Ray Byrd of Ronda, David Ransom Byrd and wife Wanda of Elkin; daughter, Penny Byrd Grit and husband Kevin of Roaring River; brother, David Luffman and wife Peggy of Apex; 21 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, February 24, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Little Elkin Baptist Church with Rev. David Key and Rev. Wayne Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
