Peggy Joyce Kell

Mrs. Peggy Joyce Kell, age 91, of State Road passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020 at SECU Hospice Center. Mrs. Kell was born September 24, 1928 in Beaumont, TX to Joseph and Robbie May Highsaw.

Mrs. Kell was a member of Vine Church and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Kell; sons, Joseph William Creviston, John Marshall Creviston; daughters, Joyce Evalyn Simmons, Robbie Ruth Salas; grandchildren, Nicole Whelan, Nathan Caudill, Diane Caudill; and brother Jimmy Fontnot.

Survivors include: son, Edgar “Hotsy” Creviston of Texas; daughters, Clara Caudill and husband Ronnie of State Road, Melissa Whelan of Advance, Linda Mahan and husband Roger of Hays, Jimalee Kell; 23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great grandchildren; and special niece Betty Caudill and husband Larry of Kannapolis.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service with Pastor Thomas McDaniels and Pastor Derek Barker officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be, Neal Caudill, Daniel Caudill, Kenneth Caudill, Thomas Caudill, Jonathan Bryson, and Daniel Earp. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at Elkin Funeral Service.
