Ralph Mcgee Williams

Mr. Ralph McGee Williams, age 91, of Mountain Park passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Pruitt Health. Mr. Williams was born December 14, 1930 in Surry County to Roger Judson Williams and Sena McGee Williams.

Mr. Williams was a member of Mountain Park Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was the founder and president of Federal Financial Services and a United States Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Williams was a member of the Mountain Park Ruritan Club, Surry Baptist Association, and the Mitchell River Preservation Coalition. Ralph was instrumental in upgrading the Mountain Park community park and in appreciation the amphitheater was named in his honor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Arleen Hodge and Anna Williams.

Survivors include: his wife, Peggy Gross Williams of the home; daughters, Laura Jo Deshaies of Mountain Park, Martha Lynn Burkhart of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Alexandra Deshaies and Benjamin Burkhart.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain Park Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Henderson and Rev. Bill Blakley officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Park Cemetery. Mr. Williams will lie-in-state from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. prior to the service at the church. The family will receive friends inside the church after the graveside committal service.
