Richard E. Love Jr.

Mr. Richard "Ritchie" Earl Love, Jr., age 52, of Elkin, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Hugh Chatham Hospital in Elkin.

Ritchie was born in Surry County on November 18, 1971, to Richard Earl Love, Sr. and Mariam Hayes Brooks.

Ritchie loved his family and friends.  He worked at Elkin Furniture until it closed and was very proud of his work and accomplishments.  He had a love for the outdoors, fishing and hunting.  He cherished his dog, Maggie May, who was his best friend.  Ritchie touched many hearts and lives in his 52 years here on earth.  He had a strong belief in God and loved a great debate.  The world is a little dimmer now, but heaven is so much sweeter.  Now, he's where he always wanted to be.

The passing of Richard, or Ritchie as he was affectionately known, has left a void in our lives. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Earl Love, Sr., a sister, Amber Love, and a brother, Jeff Brooks, grandparents, O'Brien and Dorothy Hayes, and uncle, O.D. Hayes and his beloved dog, Maggie May.

Richard is survived by his mom & dad, Mariam Brooks and Shawn of State Road, daughters & son in law, Carrie & Matt Osborne of North Wilkesboro, and Charity Bandy of Boone; sister, Dorothy Bragg and five grandchildren; Branson Osborne, Levi Osborne, Wyatt Osborne, and two additional grandchildren.  Aunts Susie Hayes of Soddy Daisy, TN, & Bonnie & Larry Tucker of Mount Airy.   His girlfriend, Maidron Combs of Elkin, also survives.

A private memorial service dedicated to celebrating Mr. Richard Love's life will be held at a later date.
