Ricky Blackburn

Mr. Ricky Gayle Blackburn, age 60, of Elkin passed away Saturday, February 01, 2020 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Blackburn was born April 18, 1959 in Surry County to Richard “Sonny” and Lois Cothren Blackburn.

Ricky was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in State Road, and retired from Century Link Telephone. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: his wife, Cathy Holloway Blackburn of the home; son, Cameron Blackburn of the home and daughter, Mattie Blackburn of the home; granddaughter, Emeline Settle; sisters, Teresa Miles and husband Mike of Hays, Amy Caveny and husband Dale of Sparta, and Dawn Longbottom and husband Tracy of Hays; special mother-in-law, Catherine Holloway; 4 nieces and 3 nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Roaring Gap Baptist Church with Rev. John Attaway and Rev. Richard Hackler officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery with full Military honors provided by Yadkin VFW post 10346. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Elkin Funeral Service.
