Ricky Joe Combs

Ricky Joe Combs, age 57, of Ronda, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.
Ricky, a self-employed poultry farmer, was born on July 2, 1967, in Wilkes County to Glen Benford Combs and Thelma Johnson Combs.  His love for the farm, farm equipment, hunting, fishing, and nature’s beauty was only surpassed by his love for his family.  He cherished every moment spent with them.

In addition to his parents Ricky was preceded in death by a sister, Joann Combs; brothers, James David Combs, Timmy Gene Combs and Benny Ray Combs and father-in-law, James Elmer Riggsbee.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Vickie Riggsbee Combs of the home; children and grandchildren, Matthew Combs of Roaring River, Tyler Combs of Ronda, Rebecca Kilpatrick and husband Scott of N. Wilkesboro, Amanda Combs of Ronda, Victoria Walthall of Wilmington, Rachael Combs of Ronda; Breagha Kilpatrick, Jackson Kilpatrick, Korbyn Wood, Eli Walthall, Owen Combs, Addie Combs; great-grandson, Kiyan Combs; sisters, Helen Payne and husband Floyd of North Wilkesboro, Hilda Stevenson and husband Karl of Roaring River, Frances Combs of Elkin, Martha Absher and husband Silas of Roaring River; mother-in-law, Nancy Baldwin Riggsbee of Traphill; sister-in-law Kathy Bare.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, August 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Brian Wiles officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Rachel Baptist Church Cemetery.
