Ricky Steven Van Hoy

Mr. Ricky Steven Van Hoy, age 65, passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 26, 2021 at his residence.

Ricky was born September 14, 1956 in Surry County to Ray Van Hoy and Rebecca Triplett Van Hoy. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and loved the outdoors.

Survivors include: wife of 32 ½ years, Ruth Barr Van Hoy of the home; parents, Ray and Rebecca Van Hoy of Jonesville; Children, Stephanie O’Quinn and husband Matt of Myrtle Beach, Sheena Shell and husband Jamie of Granite Falls, Ricky Van Hoy II and wife Misty of Lawndale, Timothy Van Hoy and wife Sammi of Raleigh, Mark Van Hoy and wife Ashley of Jonesville; brothers, Douglas Lee Van Hoy and wife Brenda of Ronda, Joey Van Hoy of Jonesville; sisters, Vickie Shore and husband Wayne of Hamptonville, Cindy Elliot and husband Robert of Hamptonville, Lou Ann Poe and husband John of Elkin, Beth Haynes and husband Art of Elkin; sister-in-law, Gail Hembree of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren Samantha Van Hoy, Trey Shell and Lane Shell, Ashton Watts, Lathan Van Hoy and Emma Van Hoy and one expectant grandchild, Eleni Van Hoy due March 2022.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 29, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
