Ricky Dewey Walker

Ricky Dewey Walker, age 71, of Thurmond passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center in Elkin.

Ricky was born August 23, 1953 in Wilkes County to Ransom Dewey and Faye Walsh Walker.  He was of the Baptist faith

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Walker of the home; son, Kevin Tyler Walker and wife Erin of Winston- Salem; step-son, Chris Holbrook of Charleston, South Carolina; daughter, Tammy Hopkins; sister, Darla Terrell and husband Bobby of N. Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Dereck Covington, Micky Covington, Angela Covington and Ryan Walker and five great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, September 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Russell Fox officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and the staff of Hugh Chatham Nursing Center for their kindness and care of Ricky and the family.
