Mr. Robert “Bob” Lee Snow, age 73, of Elkin passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at his residence following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Mr. Snow was born August 8, 1949 in Nelson County, VA to Dexter Snow and Edna Lee Branch Snow.
Bob was baptized and confirmed in the Episcopal Church. He received his BA in English from Lynchburg College in 1976 and his MA in Humanities from Florida State University in 1986. He was a freelance photographer from 1977 – present and his work was featured in many galleries and museums throughout the country. Bob was also a vintage car enthusiast as long as his health permitted.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Snow is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Kathryn “Kathy” C. Snow of the home; his daughters, Janet Snow (Milo Bowles) of Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, Jennifer Galeota and husband George of Virginia Beach, VA, Kathryn Brice and husband Rob of Charlottesville, VA; grandchildren, Ashara Brice, Marya Brice, James Mayse and George Galeota; and brother James Snow.
Bob became a silent teacher by donating his body to Duke University. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date at Duke Chapel.
The family would like to thank the staff of Wake Forest Baptist Care at Home Hospice; nurse, Jennifer Joy and aide, Cece Martin.
