Robert Lee Jones

Robert Lee Jones of State Road, a beloved husband, brother, father, and grandfather, entered eternal life on Sunday January 2nd 2022 at the age of 84. He was born in Independence, Virginia, Grayson County, on September 28th 1937.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by Robert Cline Jones, his father, and Carrie Lee Bell Jones, his mother. He was retired from the John S. Clark Construction Company in Mount Airy, for which he worked for over 20 years as a project manager and estimator. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jo Ann Holder Jones, and his identical twin sons, the Most Reverend Chandler Holder Jones (his wife, Megan Baskwill Jones) and the Reverend Brandon Holder Jones. Mr Jones was a member of First Baptist Church, Elkin.

He is survived as well by his brother, Eddie Mac Jones (his wife, Donna Jones, and children, Colby Jones and Carrie Arlee Roberts), and his sister Jo Ann Jones Newman (her children, the Reverend Jay Scott Newman and Jamie Newman).

Mr. Jones enjoyed the blessing for four grandchildren, Aidan Jones, Owain Jones, Mailli Jones, and Caelin Jones.

A private graveside service is planned at Bessie's Chapel Baptist Church in Elkin. In lieu of flowers. donations may be given in his memory to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, North Carolina 27017.
