Ronnie Swaim

Mr. Ronald James “Ronnie” Swaim, age 74, of Elkin passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at his home. Ronnie was born September 25, 1947 in Surry County to Roger “R.G.” Swaim and Susan Sprinkle Swaim.

Ronnie was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and former Boy Scouts Troop leader at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Wanda Cooper Swaim of the home; daughters, Angie Swaim of Pfafftown, Beth Recchio and husband Joey Matteo of Winston-Salem; brother, Roger Swaim of Elkin; sister, Cheryl Hinshaw and husband Phil of Winston-Salem; and grandson, Nick Lawrence.

A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. prior the service at the church. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Sam Jester, Don Simpson, Trevor Wall, Dale Atkinson, Eddie Salley, Calvin Freeman, Harrison "Rainbow" Hayes, Tim Blevins, Marty Holbrook, and Randall "Rudy" Holbrook.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Stones Throw Christian Ministries, Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund, 103 Fellowship Way, State Road, NC 28676.
