Ronnie Wiles

Mr. Ronnie James Wiles, age 75, of Traphill passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at SECU Hospice Center. Mr. Wiles was born March 31, 1944 in Wilkes County to William Cortez Wiles and Lura Pruitt Wiles.

Mr. Wiles was a member of Round Hill Baptist Church where he served as clerk for 35 years and an avid trout fisherman. He graduated from North Wilkes High School, worked at Sunbeam Appliances, and retired from Vaughn Bassett Furniture Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Stacey Wiles, L.D. Wiles, E.R. Wiles, Billy Wiles, Bryce Wiles; sisters, Reba Durham and Vivian Durham.

Survivors include: his wife of 54 years, Charlotte J. Wiles of the home; son, Nathan Wiles and his wife and son of Lexington, brother, Dexter Wiles and wife Mary Lou of Traphill sisters, Jocie Crouse of Traphill, Velno Johnson and husband Mallory of Elkin; and Mildred Billings and husband Jimmy of Thurmond.

A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Matthew Higgins officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
