Rosa Winebarger

Mrs. Rosa Lee Miller Winebarger, age 92, of Wilkes County, NC passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022. Mrs. Winebarger was born February 12, 1930 in Ashe County to Loid Worth Miller and Mae Johnson Miller. She grew up in Ashe County.

Rosa worked at Sunbeam Corporation in Elkin and retired from Rhoderstein Corporation in Statesville. She was very active in her church, Maple Springs United Methodist Church in Ronda. Rosa loved to make Chrismons- tree ornaments which are religious in nature and made of white and gold to symbolize the purity and majesty of Jesus. She taught a Chrismon making class at Maple Springs through Wilkes Community College for several years, then continued teach after the class was no longer offered. Rosa loved her friends and family. She loved dogs and cherished her poodle, Muffett. She loved to read and took pleasure in being self-sufficient.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wayne Winebarger and brother, Charles Leonard Miller.

Rosa is survived by her three children, Dennis Gayle Winebarger and his wife Libby of Deep Gap, Jerry Dean Winebarger and his wife Carol of Traphill, Kathy Pardue and her husband Ron of Kernersville; sister, Louise Burgess of Jefferson; grandchildren, Bradley Winebarger and his wife Tina, Sarah Winebarger, Ian Byrd, Hunter Carlingo; great-grandchildren, Jasmine Dennis, Emmalyn Winebarger; special niece, Janie Cheek; special nephew, William Winebarger; and many more loved nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Calloway Cemetery, 8237 NC-163, West Jefferson, NC with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Mrs. Winebarger will lie-in-state Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
