Mr. Royce Miller, age 87, of Jonesville passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 at his home. Mr. Miller was born February 28, 1934 in Surry County to Mason R. and Leva M. White Miller.
Mr. Miller was a member of Grassy Creek United Methodist Church; retired veteran of the United States Navy; and retired from Fisher Body General Motors. He was a FBO operator at Elkin Municipal Airport, owner of Miller’s Flying Service; an avid outdoorsman, and registered Grand National driver with NASCAR; and most importantly, Mr. Miller was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Virginia Miller; son, Michael Royce Miller; brother, Coley Miller; and sister, Norma Sue Miller.
Survivors include: sister, Edith Osborne; daughters, Debbie Cain, Karen Childress, Emily Wiles; son, Bernie Miller; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Houston, William, Daniel, Autumn, Hannah, Brandon, Emily; seven great-grandchildren, Mason, Raegan, Kennedy, “J.P”, Wade, Liam, and Jasper Alan.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Grassy Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Cynthia Furr officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
