Ruby Annie Harkey

Mrs. Ruby Annie Anderson Harkey, age 99, of Elkin passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Harkey was born February 24, 1922 in Surry County to Edward and Roxie Nance Anderson.

Mrs. Harkey attended Faith Community Church. She enjoyed growing and arranging flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Harkey; daughter, Betty Jean Kuakenbush; sister, Stella Hodge; brothers, Donald Anderson, Mack Anderson, Sherman Anderson, and Bill Anderson.

Survivors include: her brother, Edward Anderson, Jr. and wife Alene of Asheboro; sisters, Ann Woodruff of Elkin, Lorene Thompson of Mooresville, Lena Simendinger and husband Richard of Jonesville; special niece, Patricia Woodruff Crouse of Dobson; and several other nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mike Osborne officiating.
