Ruby Raye Henson

Mrs. Ruby Raye Holbrook Henson, age 101, of Elkin passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Pruitt Health. Mrs. Henson was born February 22, 1920 in Wilkes County to Oliver P. Holbrook and Fannie Elizabeth Sprinkle Holbrook.

Mrs. Henson was a homemaker and member of Cool Springs Baptist Church and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Phillips; second husband, Norbert Henson; brothers, Jasper “Jack” Holbrook, Robert Lauren Holbrook, Joseph Oren Holbrook, Lonnie Buerette Holbrook, and Connie Bratt Holbrook; sisters, Lillie Asper Burton and Amy Maxine Burton.

Mrs. Henson is survived by a special niece, Millie Holbrook Settle as well as over 100 nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, February 20, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Collins and Rev. David Key officiating. Mrs. Henson will lie-in-state at Elkin Funeral Service Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 10:00 a.m-5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1602 Cool Springs Church Rd, Elkin, NC 28621.
