Samuel Dewitt Hall, age 81, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at his home in State Road.
Dewitt was born April 22nd, 1943 in Wilkes County to John Lee and Connie Hinson Hall.
Dewitt was a charter member of Center Baptist Church and served as a deacon and church clerk for many years. He worked as a truck driver for 25 years, but retired from Unifi after 10 years working as a dispatcher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three half-brothers, John Hall, Jr., Gene Parks, Robert Parks and a half-sister, Peggy Willey.
Survivors include his wife, June Owens Hall, of State Road, son, Samuel Todd Hall of Honolulu HI, daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly & Todd Bowman of Conway, SC, and Scarlet & Jon Paul Holleman of Jonesville. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his sister, Virginia H. Pardue, and a sister-in-law, Lynn Spicer. Also left to carry on his legacy are his beloved grandchildren, Jon Patrick & Molly Holleman and Madelyn Holleman, an honorary son, Shane Waddell, and an honorary daughter, Kelly Martin; sister-in-law, Sharon Hall of Reidsville; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Center Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Royall, Rev. Keith Wood and Jon Paul Holleman officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow at Center Baptist Church Cemetery.
