Samuel "Sammy" Carrico

Mr. Samuel “Sammy” Lee Carrico, age 83, of Elkin passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Carrico was born November 15, 1937 in Surry County to Lesley and Sadie Hodge Carrico.

Mr. Carrico was of the Baptist faith and was the owner/operator of Sam’s Produce in Elkin. Sammy was a friendly, sweet, caring person who loved people and working at Sam’s Produce.

Mr. Carrico was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: sisters, Savanna Hawks of Conover, Lavania Gilliam and husband George of Jonesville; brother, Lesley Woodrow Carrico, Jr. and wife Lisa of State Road; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for their care.
