Sandra Frances Goins

Sandra Frances Goins, 79, went home to the Lord on Monday, January 20, in Elkin, NC; after a long and courageous struggle with Parkinson’s and dementia. She was a beloved mother, sister, and friend. Despite her fading memory, her love and warmth endured. She is remembered with love and admiration.

Sandra was born June 7, 1945 to Johnnie and Margaret Wills of Saint Albans, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Carl Green, and nephew Scott Hensley.

She is survived by her son Joshua Goins and his wife Amanda of Mount Airy, NC; stepson Mark Goins and partner Tammy Poindexter of Boonville, NC; sisters Barbara Hensley and husband Edward of Lynchburg, VA, Nancy Green of Teays Valley, WV; and niece Kim Hensley of Woodlands, TX.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sandra’s life on Thursday, January 23, at 1:00 PM at Elkin Funeral Service.

In addition to being a proud and loving mother, one of the joys of Sandra’s life was extending this motherly love to many cat companions. In honor of this enduring love, the family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Blue Whiskers Cat Cafe in Mount Airy, NC.
