Mrs. Sara Ferris Poplin, age 75 of Ronda passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at her home after battling cancer and COPD for over six years. Mrs. Poplin was born July 20, 1946 in Forsyth County to Thomas Wootsen and Frances Evelyn Elliott Ferris.
Mrs. Poplin was a retiree of RJ Reynolds who enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, travelling, and spending time with her family. She and her husband were members of Macedonia Baptist Church and were thankful for their church family although they were unable to attend in recent years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas Ferris, Patricia Glass, Kenneth Ferris, and Rebecca Stafford.
Survivors include: her husband Coy J. Poplin; daughter, Tabetha Lambeth and son-in-law, Larry Jarvis, Jr.; stepdaughter, Scarlet Poplin; grandchildren, Joshua Gunter, Jared Tincher, Sara Jarvis, Josiah Jarvis; great-grandchildren, Genevieve Gunter, Preston Gunter; and numerous family and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
