Scott Holt

Mr. Scott Keith Holt, age 54, of Thurmond passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Atrium Health- Carolinas Medical Center. Scott was born May 24, 1967 in Cleveland County.

Scott was a United States Navy veteran, having served in Desert Storm, and was employed with Austin Powder. He was a great, devoted and loving husband and father. He never met a stranger and was loved by everyone.

Scott was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hunley Holt and Mattie Holt.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 28 years, Tammy B. Holt of the home; sons, Joseph Ballard and wife Elise of Thurmond, Michael Holt of Thurmond, Joshua Holt of Thurmond; daughter, Jessica Holt of Thurmond; father, Michael Drewery of Shelby; mother, Peggy Holt of Lincolnton; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rebecca and Larry Ballard of Thurmond; brothers, Chad Drewery, Tim Drewery, Michael Drewery, Casey Drewery; brothers-in-law, Larry Ballard and wife Thresia of Thurmond, Billy Ballard and wife Peggy of State Road; grandchildren, Trey Hodge, Lacy Ballard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Monday, August 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Terry Myers officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by the North Carolina Honor Guard and Yadkin VFW Post 10346 will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
