Sena Moore

Mrs. Sena Louise Norman Moore, age 96, of Devotion passed away peacefully Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home after a brief illness. Mrs. Moore was born February 13, 1926 in Surry County to Jake Allen Norman and Ennice Lorine Gaylean Norman.

Mrs. Moore was a faithful and loyal member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church; where she was the matriarch and oldest member of the church; and a Godly woman who kept Jesus as the center of her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend. Her family was everything to her and they are grateful for the legacy of love she passed down; and are so fortunate to have had her in their lives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde Henry Moore; daughters, Nieta Moore Gambill and Dian Moore Cooley; son, Henry Lance Moore; granddaughter, Lancine Thompson; sisters, Evelyn Smith, Lucy Lowe, and Imogene Ramey.

She is survived by her sons, Dwight D. Moore and his wife Judi of Advance, Richard J. Moore and his fiancée Edna of Elkin; daughters-in-law, Maxine Moore of Pilot Mountain, Karen Shores of State Road. She was the proud grandmother to Teddy Gambill and his wife Robin, Cindy Alberg, Craig Gambill and his wife Tricia, Jill Beaty and her husband Scott, Megan Stainback and her husband Kevin, Adriane Cooley and her husband Chris, Joshua Moore, Derek Moore and his wife Selena; great-grandmother to twelve; and great-great-grandmother to five.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Rocky Ford Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Piedmont Land Conservancy, PO Box 4025, Greensboro, NC 27404 for the projects on Mitchell River or Rocky Ford, C/O Claude Loyd, 312 Logun Rd., State Road, NC 28676.
