Sharon Hinson Brown

Sharon Hinson Brown, age 60, of Thurmond, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Sharon was born in Surry County on September 30, 1964, to Robert George Hinson and Bonnie Wilson Hinson.
Sharon was a member of Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church; she enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with her church family. She had a special talent for baking and had mastered her mother's Red Velvet Cake Recipe. She always looked forward to making her brother a cake for his birthday, a gesture that brought joy and warmth to their relationship.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Mitchell Lee Burchette.
Survivors include her husband, Mark Brown, of Thurmond; brother, Robert Hinson and wife Sherry of State Road; sister-in-law, Joan Walker, of Richmond, VA; and brother-in-law, David McCann.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Simpson and Rev. John Attaway officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in State Road.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
