Shelia Hinson

Mrs. Shelia Gayle Hooper Hinson, age 82, of State Road passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Hinson was born September 3, 1939 in Surry County to Woodrow Hooper and Ruth Buelin Hooper.

Mrs. Hinson was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and a retired hairdresser.

Mrs. Hinson was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include: her husband, Frank Hinson of the home; daughter, Melissa Culler and her husband Larry of State Road; son, Brian Hinson; brother, Ron Hooper and his wife Trish of Greensboro; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Whitley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. The family requests that those attending the services to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church Youth Fund, PO Box 38, State Road, NC 28676.
