Sue C. Royal

Mrs. Sue Cox Royal, age 77, of Elkin, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.

Sue was born on April 12, 1947, to Harlon Tyre and Elner Marie Collins Cox.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Eugene Royal, brother Vance Cox, sister Frances Brown, and two brother-in-law’s, Buster Royal and Ray Simpson.

Survivors include her son Shane Royal of California, adopted daughter Malynda Carter of Elkin, sister Pearl Simpson of Elkin, two sister-in-law’s, Iva Dean Cox, Betty Royal, a brother-in-law, Glen and Deborah Royal of Elkin, and several other loving nieces and nephews.

There are no services planned at this time.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital’s ICU and Mountain Valley Hospice for their love and care towards Mrs. Royal.
