Thurman Lucas, Sr.

Mr. Thurman Lucas, Sr., age 90, of Roaring River passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Mr. Lucas was born May 9, 1931 in Logan County, WV to Bernie and Shirley Mullins Lucas.

Mr. Lucas was a member of Rachel Baptist Church and retired driver with Roadway Trucking. He was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include: his wife, Eva Lee Lucas of the home; son, Thurman Lucas, Jr.; daughters, Audrey Owens and Ella Mae McDaniel; stepdaughter, Vickie Bodsford; brother, Charlie Lucas; sister, Wilma Nester; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren, Tiffany Bodsford and Brandon Bodsford.

A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Rachel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Gary Porter officiating.
